Market Research
As the world's largest independent provider of software quality management (QM) and testing services, the SQS group feels duty bound: as well as research, it advances the issue of 'software quality' through studies and surveys. Because the basis of innovation is knowledge: how do QM and testing add value to the business? What is state-of-the-art? What are the trends of tomorrow?
Market research is based on a range of supporting pillars: in addition to regular reader surveys in its customer magazine QUALITY, in 2007 SQS began the annual publication of an independent, internationally oriented study covering the software testing market, thus enabling a representative picture to be drawn of software quality management and testing.
The latest study was conducted by the IT analysts at PAC (Pierre Audoin Consultants) at the beginning of 2008. More than 1,000 companies in 12 European countries plus South Africa took part in the survey.
As both SQS itself and its market are experiencing further strong growth and the required quality services are becoming more and more differentiated, SQS will continue to commission studies into software testing. In this way service providers, end-user companies and other interested parties will receive a regular report on the status of the market and the latest trends. A comparison with the figures from the previous year will provide a detailed picture of which way the wind is blowing in the projects and in relation to the tools and procedures used for testing.
